It is with great reluctance and a heavy saddle that I must inform you that Tour de Laemmle will not be taking place this year. In this crazy mixed-up world, Laemmle has other fish to fry (not real fish, vegan friends) at the present moment. With our focus diverted, we simply can’t deliver the TDL experience you know and love. Yeah, I know. What about the camaraderie? What about “finding my truth” while mainlining pickle juice? What about baking in the late-July sun for umpteen hours and cursing all existence? And dammit …. WHAT ABOUT THE SOCKS?! Not. Going. Anywhere. We’re just going to put that pickle juice on the shelf for a year (we’ve heard it gets better with age). Our plan is to bring TDL back for 2020, socks ‘n all. In the meantime …on behalf of El Jefe Greg Laemmle, Captain Wayne Ridetime Howard (what time is it?), our intrepid Ride Marshal Team, and the entire Laemmle crew, I wish you smooth roads and glorious trails. And, as always, feel free to connect with us via social or good old fashion email. In socks we trust, Marc Horwitz |

TDL Jersey – FAQ
Q: What does it look like?
A: We’re keeping it a surprise! (all will be revealed in due time.)
Q: But it will be super-cool/drool-worthy, right?
A: Most definitely.
Q: Will the jerseys match THE SOCKS?
A: They just might do.
Q: Will they replace the socks?
A: Heck no! Anyone can purchase a jersey. Socks MUST be earned.
Q: What is the ordering window?
A: ONE WEEK (more or less). Your order must be received by next Monday, June 11 before the stroke of midnight.
Q: How much does it cost?
A: $70 for the “Classic” or $85 for the swanky “Peloton DX”
Q: Will I regret not ordering one?
A: Does a bike have wheels?
Q: How do I get mine in time for the ride?
A: See details below.
How to Order
- Order Directly from Voler (our jersey vendor)
- Specify Options
Note: The “Peloton DX” model is slightly more expensive and slightly better quality with a more breathable fabric and enhanced features like a “grippier” waist. It’s a decent upgrade for only $15 more. - Pick Up Your Jersey
Important: You’ll receive your jersey at TDL (July 29) during morning check-in. That means you’ll probably want to make a quick wardrobe change at the starting line. If desired, we can hold onto any discarded clothing (or your TDL jersey) for you to pick up at the end of the day. While a little inconvenient, this arrangement A) ensures you’ll get your jersey in time for the event and B) reduces your order cost by about $10.
In sum: The long-awaited TDL Jersey has arrived. You can now give your socks the company they deserve! You have a week. Go.
In other news…
We’re pleased to announce that TDL Vérité 2018 is nearly “sold out!” With less than 25 spaces remaining, if you and/or your crew were considering joining us, “now” is the time. Register here.
As always, thanks for being part of our beautiful, crazy TDL community.
Until next time, smooth roads…

TDL Vérité 2018 on July 29 – Registration Open!
Hold on to your socks! Tour de Laemmle is back for 2018 and … registration is now open! As is our custom, TDL 2018 will coincide with the final stage of that “other tour” on Sunday, July 29.
Similar to last year, this edition of TDL will be done “Vérité” style. This fancy French word (for “truth”) comes from the 1960s film movement that prioritized realism and authenticity over glamour and glitz – a sensibility that has “Laemmle” written all over it. And so our incredible odyssey through L.A. County will be an unplugged, stripped down version of the ride you know and love. We invite you to “find your truth” on Tour de Laemmle Vérité. 135 miles. For the hardcore only.
Register now and reserve your spot. Heck, we don’t have to tell you that TDL “sells out” every year (though guess we just did). Get in while the gettin’ is good…
